The Purpose of REEP
REEP (The Religious Education and Environment Programme) provides unusual and thought-provoking resources for teachers and learners. REEP specialises in the fields of spirituality, the environment and religion. Resources are free to schools via the website.
A well-established leader of good practice in educational technology, widely used and part of the National Grid for Learning. REEP also holds training days to support its School Gardens Awards Scheme.
REEP has a very extensive network of supporters and contacts. It works with all faiths and is non-denominational.
Background
The REEP website was launched in the year 2000 as REEP's Millennium Gift for RE teachers. Teachers and pupils will find ideas and curriculum material on this website to help them explore the relationship between religion and the environment. We hope it will provide you with opportunities that you can use even in the limited time available. All the REEP material is written with real classroom constraints in mind, but we have tried not to let these limit the vision - and, of course, using the materials will help you fulfil requirements to use information technology in the classroom!
Everyone who works with REEP cares passionately about the Environment and about RE. We also believe that these are both areas where we can all learn so many things about the world around us, its inhabitants and, at the same time, find out more about ourselves.
